You might want to check out Obamatracker.com. They had some other articles about the VP issue and how Biden was selected. They also had a link to live coverage of the appearance.

7 Worrisome Signs For Obama
I'm interested, but not that informed....I guess we can all agree that a win in Fl is huge. We agree that foreign policy cred, at least as a wonk, would be helpful, and a low key southerner who wouldn't overshadow the Chief but could step in as Pres if (God forbid) needed. I hope someone has given Bob Graham a call....

Barack Obama and Bill Clinton chat at last
Mr. Obama doesn't understand that he needs Hillary Clinton on the ticket to fight and beat Republican John McCain. People are Talking!! "This guy doesn't know what he is doing,", is the considered opinion in my town. Oh, Sorry folks I can't donate, but if you want my vote, get real!!

I dont think Obama will prolong war like McCain plans. Based on his position my feeling that he doesnt want a political vacuum in Iraq, which will be a fertile ground for terrorists like Al-qeada which is even worse.

Obama Calls for Increasing the Size of the Military | Politicususa
I must admit that I am disappointed with the changing positions of Barack Obama on the subject of ending the war. He clearly is moving to the middle, which if he is, McCain will have my vote because there is no difference between them. Obama is beginning to look like every other politician, not the person he was six months ago.

Maintaining consistency of purpose and unequivocal manifestos are important in this campaign and clearly stating your stance is critical. Wavering or trying to strike the center may be counter productive. The Democrats have so much in their favor in this campaign but failure to articulate your stance and hammer on them until they resonate to the voters, may drive this contest to a virtual tie, which I think may be dangerous in months ahead. Regarding your Iraq's policy, there should not be any wavering regardless of the situation in Iraq. Firmly state that this ill-conceived war must come to an end. It is time for the troops to come home. Emphasize your determination to begin troop withdrawal of 1-2 brigades per month for a 16-month target. No matter what side of the argument, you would be right, at least not diluting your stand or flip-flopping! If the argument is that the "surge is working", fine, then, that even justifies why our troop must return home. If the violence escalates, no further humane, material and American sacrifice was necessary for this unwarranted war, and the troops must return home. Let the Iraqi's Government understand the time is up! Let Mr. Obama keep emphasizing this position consistently and firmly. The sacrifices are enormous and unsustainable. Regarding the economy, I suggest you must be proactive in providing reasons why we must re-negotiate NAFTA, why Job outsourcing must be addressed. Not only do middle class and blue collar workers lose their jobs, making it harder in achieving that American dreams, the revenue accruable to the tiers of government is lost which can jeopardize government-oriented programs. This must be presented in the most passionate and unwavering posit. Regarding drilling, I think that if your approach is comprehensive, it should also include some increase in supply, which also means some form of drilling. I understand, I think from what Joe Biden said recently, the oil companies are only drilling 25 % of areas already allocated to them, so why are they not doing 80-100 %. They are asking for more drilling areas when infact, they are not drilling enough in the first place. That points to corporate greed of working to keep crude oil/pump prices high against the hardworking Americans. This must stop! There has to be a change. These corporations that have enjoyed windfall profits from the Bush-McCain policies must be held accountable. There must be change. And that change is now. And I want all Americans to support me for this change.

Nelson: Nebraska could give Obama electoral votes
The real issue is not how well Obama or McCain might do in the closely divided battleground states, but that we shouldn't have battleground states and spectator states in the first place. Every vote in every state should be politically relevant in a presidential election. And, every vote should be equal. We should have a national popular vote for President in which the White House goes to the candidate who gets the most popular votes in all 50 states. The National Popular Vote bill would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC). The bill would take effect only when enacted, in identical form, by states possessing a majority of the electoral vote -- that is, enough electoral votes to elect a President (270 of 538). When the bill comes into effect, all the electoral votes from those states would be awarded to the presidential candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC). The major shortcoming of the current system of electing the President is that presidential candidates have no reason to poll, visit, advertise, organize, campaign, or worry about the voter concerns in states where they are safely ahead or hopelessly behind. The reason for this is the winner-take-all rule which awards all of a state's electoral votes to the candidate who gets the most votes in each separate state. Because of this rule, candidates concentrate their attention on a handful of closely divided "battleground" states. Two-thirds of the visits and money are focused in just six states; 88% on 9 states, and 99% of the money goes to just 16 states. Two-thirds of the states and people are merely spectators to the presidential election. Another shortcoming of the current system is that a candidate can win the Presidency without winning the most popular votes nationwide. The National Popular Vote bill has been approved by 19 legislative chambers (one house in Colorado, Arkansas, Maine, North Carolina, and Washington, and two houses in Maryland, Illinois, Hawaii, California, Rhode Island, and Vermont). It has been enacted into law in Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, and Maryland. These states have 50 (19%) of the 270 electoral votes needed to bring this legislation into effect. Puerto Rico Results: Clinton Over Obama, Scores/Analysis
Bill Schneider on CNN yesterday (Sunday) reported on an exit poll which showed that Obama got 50% of the Puerto Rican votes from voters who weren't pushing for Statehood. Clinton had pandered to Puerto Ricans who were in favor of Statehood - promising them everything. Those voters, the ones for whom the prospect of Puerto Rico becoming the 51st state really mattered, turned out overwhelmingly - like 86% for Clinton. Had Clinton not campaigned heavily on the Statehood issue, the vote would have been a lot closer.
